US Democrat Joe Biden said he has "no doubt" on Thursday that he will beat President Donald Trump and be proclaimed the winner of the US election, maintaining that voters remain vigilant and that "very soon" the outcome will be known.

"We continue to feel very good about where things stand. We have no doubt that when the count is finished, Senator (Kamala) Harris and I will be declared the winners,"
Biden told reporters in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware.

Biden, 77, is leading Trump in the 270-vote contest that will put one of them at the top, with the Democratic campaign saying that he thinks he has enough votes to win in crucial swing states, such as Pennsylvania, that remain undecided.
