Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, has stated that he may not live to run for a second term in office.

The Governor stated that it is all up to God and not some unidentified persons in the state who are trying to bring him down, and that he may run for President in 2023.

Bala claimed that individuals he referred to as "Abuja politicians" in the state have nothing but hatred and deceit to give.

Bala claimed that security files he had at his disposal suggested that those persons were behind the state's criminality, and that he knew the masterminds behind the state's kidnappings and criminality.

The governor stated this on Tuesday when he presented N75 million in cash and starting packs to 500 individuals in Darazo town, which is part of the Darazo Local Government Area.

“Don’t listen to the Abuja politicians who have nothing to offer other than to pull down Bala Mohammed, Kauran Bauchi,” he said.

By the grace of God, I have become governor with or without them and of course, I will live my time allotted to me by Allah. I may go for a second term, I may not even live to that time; I may go for the presidency, there is nothing they can do. I know what they are doing.

“Those Abuja politicians are not doing anything for us other than bringing mischief. I know some leaders of the state who are busy bringing criminals to the state. I will talk when the time comes. We will prove tough but certainly, we are not afraid of them,” he declared.
