On Saturday, the Kebbi Police Command reported that bandits killed 88 persons in the state's Danko/Wasagu Local Area on Thursday.

DSP Nafi'u Abubakar, the command's Public Relations Officer, corroborated the statistic, saying that all of the deceased were slain in eight separate communities within the local government area.

He claims that the command has found 88 dead so far and despatched a contingent of agents to maintain law and order in the affected areas.

“The killing took place in Koro, Kimpi, Gaya, Dimi, Zutu, Rafin Gora and Iguenge villages, all in Danko/Wasagu LGA of Kebbi State.

“Initially, the bodies recovered were 66 but as I am talking to you now, about 88 bodies have been recovered,” Abubakar said.
