Senato Ishaku Abbo Presenting trophy to the winner of SIA Football tournament in Ganye
Senator Ishaku Abbo of Adamawa North in the 9th Assembly has declared his intention to take a shot at the governor's seat after serving only one term in the National Assembly.
The lawmaker who decamped to the All Progressive Party recently says he will contest the 2023 Adamawa governorship election.
The first-term lawmaker has been a vocal critic of the administration of incumbent Adamawa governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, a feud he said forced him out of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) last month.
Abbo revealed during a trip to Ganye local government area of Adamawa on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, that he will challenge Fintiri who will be seeking re-election in 2023.
He also noted that he dumped the PDP for the APC because the party was dead.
The tournament was organised by the Senator Abbo Supporters in the Sub-southern zone (Ganye Chiefdom), aimed at showcasing their love and support to the lawmaker.
The tournament took place in Ganye LGA which Comprises of teams from Toungo, Jada, Mayo-Belwa and Ganye LGA. The final Match took place on 28th December, 2020 at the Ganwari Square.
Thousands of supporters were at the venue as Senator Ishaku Abbo Graced the occasion. The final recorded a Massive turnout of youths and women.
Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal, the former APC party Chairman in Adamawa State commended the efforts of the youths for creating an activity that will unite the people of Ganye chiefdom. And also promise that all members of the APC will have fair dealing by the Party in the irrespective of Religion difference, Tribal Affiliation or duration on the party.
Ambassador Kevin Peter was also present at the event and also present Gift to the teams. He also promise the youths that they will receive equal treatment in the dealing of governance.
While presenting the Trophy to the winning team Sen Abbo shows his appreciation and thanked the organizers and his teaming supporters in the Ganye Chiefdom. He assured the youths that he will not disappoint them as he is now the Icon and representative of the youths in the Nigerian Politics.
