Former Zamfara Governor, Abdulaziz Yari, Donates 200 Trucks of Maize to Over 230,000 People
In a significant effort to alleviate the suffering of the people of Zamfara State, former governor and Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, has donated 200 trucks of maize for direct distribution to those in need.
The Chairman of the state distribution committee, Hon. Lawal M. Liman, stated that the donation targets over 230,000 people across the state.
The distribution strategy allocates 20 trucks each to the local government areas of Gusau, Gummi, and Talata Mafara, while the remaining 11 local governments will receive 12 trucks each.
Liman emphasised that the gesture is intended to ease the hardship faced by the people, particularly in light of the recent flooding in Gummi and the high prices of food items in the market.
He urged members of the distribution committees to ensure transparency and inclusivity during the exercise, regardless of religious or political affiliations.
This donation is expected to bring much-needed relief to many families in Zamfara State and help stabilise food prices in the market.
