Adamawa Assembly Receives Eight Bills Sent by Governor Fintiri
On Monday, the Adamawa State House of Assembly received eight bills forwarded by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for legislative consideration.
The bills were presented during the Assembly’s resumed plenary session, where they were read by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley.
The bills include:
- A bill to repeal the Adamawa State Accounting Amendment Law No. 22 of 2018.
- A bill to repeal the Adamawa State Condition of Service for Registrars, Court Clerks, and Bailiffs Law No. 8 of 2018.
- A bill to amend the Adamawa State and Local Government Audit Law of 2021.
- A bill to amend the Adamawa State Debt Management Agency Law of 2011.
- A bill to amend the Adamawa State Public Procurement Law of 2013.
- A bill to repeal the Adamawa State Condition of Service for Magistrates, Area Court Judges, Law Officers, and Legal Officers Law No. 11 of 2006.
- A bill to repeal the Adamawa State Condition of Service for Staff of the Legislature Law No. 6 of 2010.
- A bill to amend the Adamawa State Fiscal Responsibility Commission (Repeal and Enactment) Law of 2018.
Governor Fintiri, through a letter read in the Assembly, requested lawmakers to deliberate on the bills for possible passage into law.
Following the reading, the Majority Leader, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno, representing Demsa Constituency, moved separate motions for the first reading of each bill.
Several lawmakers, including the Chief Whip, Hon. Moses Yerima Zah (Michika), and others from other districts, seconded the motions.
The bills will now proceed through the legislative process, including further readings and committee review.
