The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a man named Robert Mede for allegedly murdering his pregnant  wife.

Mede asked his friend Mustapha to assist him in persuading his wife to return home after she went to her parents' house over an issue they were having on July 4.

The suspect, a resident of Bodere village in the Fufore Local Government Area of the state, claimed that his wife came out of the house at 8:00 p.m., grabbed his neck, and accused him of cheating on her.

He stated that when his wife dragged him into their home and put him to the ground, he stood up and whacked her in the waist with a stick.

Her condition was harmed as a result of the assault, and she was brought to the hospital. She was apparently scheduled for a blood transfusion, but her condition worsened, and she died on July 9, 2021.

Mede expressed contrition for his behavior to the publication. Sulaiman Yahaya Nguroje, a state police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and said the suspects would be charged in court soon.
