Governor Fintiri’s N50,000 Business Wallet Boosts Adamawa Market Women, Traders
Market women and petty traders in Adamawa State have expressed their gratitude for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s empowering initiatives, especially the N50,000 Fintiri Business Wallet Scheme. This appreciation came during the distribution of PAWECA forms at key markets in Sengere Bode, Bekaji, and Malamre, with the event led by Dr. Michael Zira, the Director General of PAWECA.
Dr. Zira highlighted that the governor’s administration recognises the vital role of market women, youths, and petty traders in the state’s development. He stressed that the Fintiri Business Wallet grant is a clear demonstration of the governor’s commitment to economically empowering these groups, giving them the opportunity to contribute more actively to the governance process.
“Governor Fintiri understands the importance of these key stakeholders. The N50,000 grant will help them grow their businesses and improve their livelihoods,” said Dr. Zira.
Governor Fintiri’s initiative is in line with his administration’s people-focused policies.
With a focus on tackling poverty and fostering economic growth, the program seeks to empower 60,000 women, youths, petty traders, and less privileged individuals across the state.
Each recipient will receive N50,000, a significant amount aimed at boosting small-scale businesses and stimulating local economies.
“This is a key part of our open-door policy, which is centred around delivering hope and tangible benefits to the people,” Governor Fintiri said during a previous public statement about the initiative.
“We are committed to improving the lives of ordinary citizens by helping them become self-reliant and contributing to the state’s progress.”
The Fintiri Business Wallet Scheme is one of several initiatives introduced by the governor to support entrepreneurs and small businesses in Adamawa.
Earlier, the governor launched a similar program, offering N50,000 grants to 10,000 small-scale entrepreneurs. These efforts highlight the governor’s resolve to empower individuals at the grassroots level, especially those running small businesses in the informal sector.
“These initiatives are essential for small traders and business owners who form the backbone of our economy,” said Dr. Zira. “Through these grants, we are helping to alleviate poverty and create new economic opportunities for those who need it the most.”
Market women across the state have welcomed the empowerment initiative, seeing it as a significant step toward improving their economic standing.
Many praised the governor’s foresight in recognising the struggles of small traders and responding with practical solutions.
“I am very happy about this empowerment. The N50,000 will go a long way in helping me expand my business and provide for my family,” said a marketwoman from Malamre.
Youths and petty traders also expressed their appreciation, viewing the grant as an opportunity to start or grow their businesses, thus enhancing their financial independence and contributing to the local economy.
Governor Fintiri’s administration continues to push forward with programs that aim to foster economic growth and address issues of poverty across the state.
This initiative, like many others, demonstrates his dedication to creating a more prosperous Adamawa, where citizens can thrive through self-employment and local business development.
“The empowerment of small traders, women, and youths is at the heart of our economic policy. We want to ensure that every citizen has the opportunity to succeed and contribute to the growth of Adamawa,” Fintiri emphasised.
As the Fintiri Business Wallet Scheme rolls out, expectations remain high among the people of Adamawa. The empowerment program is viewed as a major step toward building a more inclusive economy and ensuring that the benefits of development are felt at all levels of society.
With plans to expand these initiatives, Governor Fintiri’s approach to governance is resonating with the people. His administration’s focus on grassroots empowerment continues to earn praise from various sectors as the state looks to a brighter, more economically stable future.
