Adamawa Police Nab Two Shila Boys, Recover Knife, Tricycle, iPhones
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected Shila Boys, notorious for robbery incidents in Yola, the state capital.
The arrests, made on January 19, 2025, led to the recovery of stolen items, including two iPhones, a tricycle, and a knife.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, revealed that a concerned citizen reported a robbery involving the Shila Boys.
The suspects, operating with a tricycle, had reportedly robbed Uba Ibrahim of his iPhone XR near Jippu Jam Toll Gate along the Yola road.
Acting swiftly on the tip-off, officers from the Karewa Divisional Police Headquarters intercepted the suspects at Malamre Junction.
The arrested individuals are Hamza Ibrahim, 19, of Behind Shopping Complex, Jimeta-Yola North Local Government Area, and Abdulkarim Suleiman, 20, of Sengere Samunaka, Yola South Local Government Area.
Investigations uncovered that the suspects had previously robbed another victim, Bello Babangida, of his iPhone 7 along the same road.
Both stolen phones were recovered alongside the tricycle used during the crimes.
Commending the prompt action of the police, Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, PSC (+), expressed gratitude for the public’s cooperation in ensuring security.
He urged citizens to continue supporting the police to strengthen community safety.
“The suspects will face diligent prosecution,” assured CP Morris, highlighting the Command’s commitment to curbing crime in the state.
This development reflects the Adamawa Police Command’s resolve to tackle the menace of criminal gangs terrorizing residents.
