Adamawa Police Launch Rescue Operation for Two Kidnapped Catholic Priests
The Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has strongly condemned the kidnapping of two Catholic priests, Reverend Father Mathew David Dusami of Yola Diocese and Reverend Father Abraham Samman of Jalingo Diocese.
The clerics were abducted in the early hours of February 22, 2025, from their residence in Gwaida Malam, Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Eyewitnesses report that heavily armed kidnappers stormed the priests’ residence at around 4:00 a.m. and forcefully took them away.
In response, CP Dankombo Morris has deployed tactical teams and operational assets to track down the kidnappers, ensure the safe return of the victims, and bring the perpetrators to justice.
“The command is fully committed to rescuing the victims unharmed and ensuring that those responsible for this heinous act face the full weight of the law,” Morris stated.
He emphasized that attacks on religious leaders are unacceptable, as they play a vital role in promoting peace and harmony in society.
The police urged the public to remain calm and cooperate by providing any useful information that could assist in locating the abducted priests and apprehending the kidnappers.
