Another Family Receives Benefit of Deceased CORPS Member in Yola

Another family of a deceased Corps member today received a cheque of one million naira from the management of NYSC through Capital Express Assurance Limited as death benefit. This the second within the space of one week.

Commenting during the presentation in his office at Federal Secretariat Complex, Jimeta- Yola, the Adamawa State Coordinator, Mallam Abubakar Mohammed extended message of condolence to the bereaved family on behalf of the Director General of NYSC.

“I know we visited you on condolence when your sister died, but seeing you today on her account brings back afresh memories of the gloomy moment. To us in the NYSC, the death of a Corps member is the worst experience we pass through. Each time it happens, we are all thrown into mourning across the nation.

“So on behalf of our Director General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, I wish to once again express our deepest condolences to your family” he said.

Responding on behalf of the family, an elder brother to the deceased, who is also her next- of-kin, Mr. Gregory Goji John thanked NYSC for standing beside his family at their time of agony. He also commended the insurance company for its living up to expectation.

The deceased Corps member, late Miss Rebecca Goji passed on in 2018 after a proctracted illness, while serving in Taraba state.
