Two bandits were killed in the Buruku axis of Chikun Local Government Area by soldiers from Operation Thunder Strike (OPTS) and the Nigerian Army's 1 Division.
Mr. Samuel Aruwan, the Kaduna Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, said some of the robbers escaped with life-threatening injuries.
The criminals were caught up in the ongoing operations against bandits in Kaduna Central Senatorial District's five local government areas, according to the Commissioner.
â€œThe military disclosed this development in an operational feedback to the Kaduna State Government.
â€œAccording to the report, the troops conducted search-and-rescue operations around the Buruku forest, precisely in Rima village, Chikun LGA.
â€œContact with bandits was made around Buruku village. A firefight ensued, during which two bandits were neutralized. Several bandit camps were also cleared and destroyed during the operation.â€
