Plot and Cast

Christmas in Lagos intertwines multiple storylines centred around the festive period. The film follows:

  • Fiyin, who, after a painful breakup, believes her best friend Elo is her soulmate. However, her plans are upended when Elo returns from New York with intentions to propose to his secret girlfriend, Yagazie.
  • 59-year-old Gbemi, who is conflicted between her long-term partner and a former lover.
  • London-born Ivie, who arrives in Lagos seeking the ultimate “Detty December” experience, only to unexpectedly fall for Ajani.

The film features a notable Nollywood cast including Shaffy Bello, Wale Ojo, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Shalom C. Obiago, Teniola Aladese, Angel Anosike, Folu Storms, and singer Waje.

Production and Music

Jade Osiberu, the founder of Greoh Studios and the visionary behind the film, shared a sneak peek of the project on Instagram, praising Ayra Starr for her role and describing her as embodying youth, bravery, and authenticity.

The soundtrack will feature tracks from Nigerian music legends Flavour, D’banj, and King Sunny Ade, adding an extra layer of star power to the film.

Jade Osiberu, known for her successful Nollywood films such as Isoken (2017), Sugar Rush (2019), Brotherhood (2022), and Gangs of Lagos, was recently recognised as one of the “40 Most Powerful Women in International Film” earlier this year.

The combination of a dynamic cast, a compelling storyline, and an impressive soundtrack is set to make Christmas in Lagos a highly anticipated release for the end of the year.
