Fabrizio Romano broke the news on Wednesday afternoon, and Inter has now confirmed it in a statement.

"FC Internazionale Milano announces that it has reached an agreement for the consensual termination of the contract with the coach Antonio Conte," their statement reads.

"The whole Club would like to thank Antonio for the extraordinary work he has done, which culminated in winning the nineteenth Scudetto. Antonio Conte will remain forever in the history of our Club."

Inter will pay €7 million to depart immediately, according to Romano.

Inter are looking for a new manager right now, and Simone Inzaghi and Massimiliano Allegri are both on their shortlist.

Conte was the manager of Inter for a long time and had a lot of success.

Inter signed the 51-year-old in 2019. In his debut season in command, he guided I Nerazzurri to second place in Serie A and the Europa League final.

In the 2020/21 season, he ended Juventus' domination and led Inter to their first Scudetto since 2010.

So, what is the reason behind Conte's departure from Inter?

The main reason is that they are now in a financial crisis.

Romano tweeted earlier on Wednesday:

"His ambitions do not coincide with the plans of the club as Inter need to sell players for €80m this summer due to financial situation. That’s why Inter and Conte could part ways soon."
