According to Aljazeera, Tanzanian opposition leader Tundu Lissu has made a sensational story that Tanzanian President John Magufuli was moved from a Nairobi hospital to India to be treated for COVID-19.

Lissu said that he obtained the information from his medical and security sources in Nairobi, and that the Tanzanian government would most likely not share the information with the Tanzanian people.

Before Kenyan newspapers began circulating stories that an African leader was being treated for COVID-19 and was on a ventilator in Nairobi, Lissu had told Reuters on Wednesday that ”@He’s (Magufuli) comatose since yesterday morning".

Lissu used Twitter to share details about Magufuli's response to COVID-19, including how he treated the situation and his current state:

Latest update from Nairobi: The Man Who Declared Victory Over Corona “was transferred to India this afternoon.” Kenyans don’t want the embarrassment “if the worst happens in Kenya.” His COVID denialism in tatters, his prayer-over-science folly has turned into a deadly boomerang!

Magufuli allegedly admitted that Tanzania has a COVID-19 problem in a cryptic message last month, saying that people should be vigilant when taking vaccines and practice social distancing and wearing masks.
