Deadly Poisoning: 4 Killed, 2 Hospitalized After Eating Toxic Fish

Tragedy struck the Kashimbila community in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State as four people lost their lives after consuming a poisonous fish. Two others are battling for their lives at a local hospital, according to Taraba News.

A resident, Haruna Isiaka, recounted how the victims unknowingly caught and cooked the toxic fish. By the next day, they fell seriously ill and were rushed to a health center. Unfortunately, four of them did not survive.

The deceased have been identified as Juli, Abubakar, Mato, and Payo. Their bodies have been taken for examination to determine the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, authorities have launched an investigation to uncover more details surrounding the incident.

The community has been thrown into mourning as residents express shock over the sudden deaths. Health officials are now warning locals to be cautious about consuming unfamiliar fish species to prevent further tragedies.
