A couple, whose wedding was cancelled on Don’t Tell The Bride, have split up just a few months after filming the programme, according to reports.
Yanis Wilkinson Teece, 23, and Shanise Frame, 19, from Birmingham, were told by producers that their wedding was off, after they discovered the bride had secretly gone through her fiance’s emails to find out the wedding plans.
The couple appeared on Sunday’s episode of the E4 show, which leaves the groom in charge of planning the big day with no help or interaction from the bride, where they were told their £12,000 nuptials had been called off.
But despite planning to spend the rest of their lives together when the show filmed in March, the couple have now split, according to Birmingham Live.
Shanise Frame, 19, and Yanis Wilkinson Teece, 23, have split, months after their wedding was cancelled when they broke the rules on Don’t Tell The Bride
While a spokesperson for the show confirmed they had split up, Yanis told the publication ‘no comment’ when addressing the rumours.
Revealing the experience had left him ‘stronger and wiser’, he said: ‘It’s been a bizarre time, I’ve had a mixture of emotions in the aftermath of the programme.’
The 23-year-old had been with Shanise for two-and-a-half years before he proposed, and they went on Don’t Tell the Bride to plan their wedding.
Yanis planned to wed his bride in Paris before flying back to Birmingham for the reception – with their budget only stretching to pay for 13 guests to travel to the ceremony.
The groom decided that Shanise’s ten-year-old brother Chris wasn’t a priority guest, and would only attend the reception.
Shanise was branded ‘controlling’ by viewers watching Sunday night’s episode of the programme, after she looked through her fiancé’s emails to find out the wedding plans
However, Yanis appeared to have a very sudden change of heart – leading the producers to initially become suspicious.
Then, when bridesmaid Melissa was told that she no longer would be attending, she let slip that the flights were booked to Paris.
The bridal party knew they would be travelling abroad, but they were supposed to have no idea where they were going – leading the producers to conclude Yanis and Shanise had been communicating via email.
The bridesmaids later visited Yanis’ house for what they thought was their dress fitting, however, they were stopped by producers mid-way through their chat.
Shanise and her bridesmaids later admitted they knew details of the day as she had snooped through the groom’s emails on an iPad
The distraught bride-to-be broke down in tears and was comforted by friend and bridesmaid, Melissa (pictured together) when she was told the news
Producers were forced to confront the groom and told him they’d have to cancel the entire wedding for the first time in the show’s history – as their ‘secret was out.’
After asking Yanis how the pair were communicating, he confessed: ‘Shanise got access to my iPad with my emails in there. So technically the bride wasn’t told, she found out through email.’
From the outset of the show, Shanise admitted she was controlling, telling the camera: ‘I do wear the trousers in the house. I give him what he can cope with, then I do the rest.’
She revealed that she always knows where her partner is and who he’s with, saying: ‘I always try to keep a record of what Yanise is doing and his whereabouts.’
Yanis (pictured) then had to call his fiancé and tell her they would no longer be getting married due to the rule-breaking
Viewers of the programme were highly critical of Shanise throughout, with many urging Yanis to end the relationship over her ‘controlling’ behaviour.
One viewer wrote: ‘I feel sorry for him, because she couldn’t just leave him to do it.’
While another commented: ‘The bride has only got herself to blame for the wedding being cancelled, she checked her fiance’s emails because she didn’t trust him at all, she ruined her own wedding.’
They went on: ‘I hope he dumps her a**, she wasn’t even sorry.’

While the couple only finished filming in March, it has emerged that six months on, the couple are no longer together.
And while Yanis is active on social media, he has made no mention of his former fiancée on his Instagram page.
In his post recent post, he wrote about his appearance on the programme but only acknowledged his best man in the caption.
Alongside a picture posing in Paris with his friend, he wrote: ‘My experience in Paris with my brother was so short yet sound, life long memories made and a stronger bond formed. Married to our brotherhood.’
