In a groundbreaking move to modernize education in Taraba State, Dr. Augustina Godwin, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, visited the College of Education, Zing, to evaluate facilities for the establishment of state-of-the-art smart classrooms.
This initiative is poised to transform teacher training and student learning across the state, aligning with Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas’ vision for educational advancement.
Accompanying the commissioner was Mrs. Urih, an education consultant from April Benjamin and Dawn Communication Limited, who provided expert insights during the facilities assessment.
This visit marks a significant step towards realizing the governor’s declaration of the College of Education, Zing, as a hub for teacher training in Taraba State.
The declaration was made during the combined 35th convocation ceremony on November 9, 2024.
A Leap Towards 21st-Century Education
The establishment of a smart school and digital hub aims to equip teachers and students with essential digital literacy skills.
This initiative represents a crucial shift towards 21st-century pedagogy, ensuring that educators and learners are prepared to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
