Fintiri Declares War on Illegal Land Grabbers, Orders Swift Action
Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reaffirmed his commitment to reclaiming all government lands illegally occupied by individuals and organizations.
Speaking to journalists after inspecting several government projects in the state, Fintiri warned that his administration would not tolerate encroachments on public property.
During an inspection of the State Agricultural Mechanization Authority office in Kofare, Yola, the governor expressed deep frustration over the unauthorized occupation of government land.
He emphasized that his administration would take decisive action to recover the land and restore its intended purpose.
“In 2019, I revoked this land, and now people have taken it upon themselves to forcefully develop it again. We will either convert these lands to government property or demolish them and construct office structures where our youth can work,” Fintiri stated.
The governor underscored that government properties should benefit the public, not serve as personal assets for a few individuals.
He lamented that lands meant for job creation and development had been illegally acquired by selfish individuals, depriving young people of employment opportunities.
While inspecting the state-of-the-art laboratory complex at the State Specialist Hospital, the Adamawa State Health Supplies Management Agency, and the model primary school in Jimeta, Fintiri expressed satisfaction with the level of work.
He noted that these projects, many of which are near completion, aim to bridge gaps in healthcare and education across the state.
Fintiri reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to enforcing the law and ensuring that all illegally occupied government properties are reclaimed.
“We will not allow this kind of lawlessness to continue,” he said firmly.
His stance sends a clear message that his government is determined to uphold order and ensure that public resources serve their rightful purpose.
