FLEAS Return With Explosive New Single ‘BLEED’ Ahead of Debut Album
Suffolk-based alternative hardcore band FLEAS are back with their intense and electrifying new single, BLEED. This track is a taste of their highly anticipated debut album, Imagine If There Was More, and showcases the band’s signature blend of punk, rock, and metal.
A Reputation for Raw Energy
Known for their raucous live performances, FLEAS have solidified their status as an act to watch. They’ve shared stages with notable names like Dingus Khan, The Meffs, Skating Polly, Gaffa Tape Sandy, and Pet Needs, earning acclaim for their high-octane energy and raw sound.
The Sound of BLEED
Produced by Alec Jarman, BLEED begins with a haunting, filtered riff that builds into an explosive main riff. The pounding drums and overdriven guitars deliver a tightly woven rhythm, while the metal-inspired riffs carry the track forward with undeniable punk energy.
The song’s visceral lead vocals alternate between spoken word and screamo, culminating in an anthemic chorus filled with raw emotion and repeatable lyrics.
The Band on BLEED
Reflecting on the track, the band said:
“BLEED was actually the first track that we wrote for the album. Pedro and Jason wrote it in Pedro’s bedroom in the summer of 2023. The song was such a departure from our previous sound that it basically inspired the rest of the album. BLEED is definitely one of our favourites.”
Themes and DIY Roots
FLEAS shared insights about their upcoming album, describing it as a deeply personal project:
“The album ranges in topics, from mental health to today’s social climate, and experiences with love and protecting those closest to us.“
Recorded in a DIY setup across bedrooms and rehearsal spaces, the album was brought to life by producer Alec Jarman, whose expertise was pivotal in capturing the band’s vision.
A Rising Force in Alternative Music
Since forming in 2018, FLEAS have been carving their niche with raw, genre-defying performances. Highlights of their journey include radio play on Total Rock and BBC Introducing, as well as winning the NMG Awards’ Best Rock Act. They’ve also garnered praise from tastemakers like New Noise, The Punk Site, Backseat Mafia, Iggy Magazine, and A&R Factory.
With BLEED setting the stage, FLEAS’ debut album promises to be a bold, unfiltered exploration of intense emotion and unrelenting energy.
