Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has directed permanent secretaries to be effective and efficient in providing services to the people through Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

Buni made the claims in the Government House in Damaturu, the state capital, on Tuesday, when swearing in seven permanent secretaries.

While providing services to the public, he asked the secretaries to be led by the code of ethics and to uphold the oath of allegiance.

“I assure you that this administration will continue to equip and reposition the Civil Service,” he said, noting that this will expedite effective implementation of government policies and programmes.

Usman Bura, Ali Mustapha, Isa Bukar, Ajiya Musa, Audi Umaru, Abudullahi Abba, and Hamidu Isa are the new secretaries.

Lawan Bukar, a permanent member of the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission, was also sworn in yesterday (YOSIEC).

Ibrahim Gaji and Baba Gishiwari were also inducted in as Judicial Service Commission (JSC) members, while Gambo Jimbam was appointed and sworn in as a commission member.

“This will also meet the yearnings and aspirations of our people,” he said, adding that secretaries should be proactive with fresh ideas to build an effective synergy with their colleagues.
