Governor Agbu Kefas Applauds SUM TV’s Bold N50M Media Expansion

A new chapter in Taraba State’s media landscape has unfolded with the launch of SUM TV’s multimedia digital studios in Jalingo. The event, which saw the presence of notable dignitaries, underscored the government’s commitment to fostering private enterprise.

Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas, represented by the Commissioner of Information and Reorientation, Barr. Zainab Usman, commended the initiative. He praised Gabriel Olayinka, the visionary behind SUM TV, for his entrepreneurial drive and dedication to expanding media opportunities in the state. The governor assured that his administration would continue to create an enabling environment for investors, encouraging more private ventures to thrive.

Speaking at the commissioning, Olayinka expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support from the state government. He recalled how his journey started a decade ago with the founding of Taraba News, an online platform that laid the foundation for his broader vision. According to him, SUM TV’s launch is not just a milestone but a stepping stone towards even greater expansion beyond Taraba.

A live broadcast of the event featured a panel discussion where speakers highlighted Olayinka’s contributions to the industry. A panelist acknowledged his efforts in job creation and mentorship, emphasizing the importance of empowering private enterprises rather than relying solely on government employment. The consensus was clear—encouraging entrepreneurship is crucial for sustainable economic development.

Among the distinguished guests at the event was Alhaji Ado Mazang, the Chief of Mumuye, alongside other notable figures who came to witness the groundbreaking achievement. The occasion marked a significant moment for media growth in Taraba State, symbolizing the power of private investment in driving innovation and job creation.
