Governor Fintiri Sheds Light On Creation Of Emirates, Chiefdoms
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises by creating additional Emirates and Chiefdoms, including the recent establishment of the Hoba Chiefdom.
During a reception in Hong for the new Tol Hoba, Barrister Alheri Bulus Nyako, Governor Fintiri, represented by the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Umar Garba Pella, emphasized that the creation of these traditional institutions aims to promote justice, development, and social cohesion within the state.
The Governor stated, “We had said during the electioneering campaign that when voted into power, we will do justice, develop the state, ensure cohesion among people, and ensure no one is oppressed.”
He further highlighted that the establishment of the Hoba Chiefdom is a testament to the government’s dedication to addressing the aspirations of its citizens.
Tol Hoba, Barrister Alheri Bulus Nyako, expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for responding to the longstanding desires of the Hoba people.
He pledged to administer his duties with fairness, ensuring that governance is inclusive and free from discrimination based on religion or ethnicity.
The Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, described the occasion as a significant milestone, noting that the community had awaited this development for over a decade.
He commended the collaborative efforts of the state government, the House of Assembly, and stakeholders across various affiliations in realizing the creation of the new Chiefdom.
Traditional leaders, including the District Head of Hong, Alhaji Umar Babangida Mahmoud, and other dignitaries, pledged their unwavering support to the new Tol Hoba.
They emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation in fostering peace and development within the Chiefdom.
Governor Fintiri’s initiative to create additional Emirates and Chiefdoms reflects a strategic effort to strengthen traditional institutions, enhance local governance, and ensure that the cultural heritage of various communities within Adamawa State is preserved and respected.
This move is expected to facilitate more effective administration at the grassroots level, promote inclusivity, and address the unique needs of diverse ethnic groups in the state.
By empowering traditional institutions, the government aims to foster a sense of belonging among its citizens, thereby enhancing social harmony and contributing to the overall development of Adamawa State.
