Despite the fact that Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura
has yet to formally announce his candidacy for the APC National
Chairmanship, a group; All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth
Vanguard has called on the ruling party’s national leaders,
stakeholders, state leaders, women, and youths to endorse former
governor of Nasarawa state, Senator Tanko Al-Makura as national chairman
of the APC.
After its 64th National Executive Committee meeting on Saturday, March

Senator Al-national Makura's chairmanship form.
The
APC youth vanguard indicated that the party has come a long way since
its inception in February 2013, and that having a core politician like
Al-Makura overseeing the party's affairs is important.
Meanwhile, there are signs that discontent within the APC is growing
over an alleged plot by some party leaders to extend the tenure of the
governor Mai Mala Buni-led caretaker committee.
If the Buni-led committee fails to carry out its mandate to hold a national convention in June 2021, some interest groups are reportedly preparing for a showdown. There are already rumors that the Buni-led committee intends to remain in power beyond June 2021.
