The member representing Yola North, Yola South and Girei federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Jafaru Sulaiman Ribadu has donated assorted relief package to victims of flood across the three local governments recently ravaged by flood.

Ribadu who was represented by the Secretary-General of Jafaru Sulaiman Ribadu political movement, Yahaya Marafa noted that he made the donation from his personal purse to alleviate the suffering of the people displaced by flood recently.

“In view of the monumental hardship being faced by the displaced persons, Hon. Ribadu decided to make personal donations of relief package to them to alleviate their suffering.

“He is currently making contact with NEMA to ensure more intervention from the federal government to the displaced people,” he said.

Items distributed to the displaced persons include rice, beans, palm oil, Maggi and flour worth millions of naira.

Responding, the representative of the IDPs, John Lamba, a resident of Mbamba ward in Yola South local government area expressed immense appreciation to the lawmaker noting that they will forever remain grateful to him for the show of spiritedness.

“We will never forget this gesture coming at a time we are in desperate need of assistance. We will eternally remain grateful to him for this uncommon show of sympathy to us. We pray God to enrich him with good health and long life for the benefit of humanity,” Lamba said.

Days of torrential rainfall has recently caused massive flood which ravaged the three local governments that make the lawmakers constituency and displaced hundreds of people prompting the lawmaker to initiate the intervention.
