The Kano State Government allowed the reduction in order to encourage property owners across the state to cheerfully pay their rates by 30%.

Dr Zainab Ibrahim-Braji, the Permanent Secretary of the Kano State Bureau for Land Management, made the announcement in Kano on Friday.

Ibrahim-Braji remarked this when she met with executives of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Kano branch, according to Murtala Shehu-Umar, the Bureau's communication officer.

She claimed that Kano Governor Abdullahi Ganduje approved the discount in order to encourage property owners to pay their levies on time.

The NBA's ongoing support and input on how to bring the bureau forward is much appreciated by the Permanent Secretary.

Earlier, NBA Kano Branch Chairman Aminu Sani-Gadanya stated that they are at the Bureau to speak with management over land administration concerns.

He applauded the permanent secretary's decision to disregard letters from lawyers who do not have the NBA seal.

â€We noticed some positive changes in running the affairs of the bureau since you assumed office as permanent secretary and head of the bureau.

“This shows that your open door policy has been achieved,” Sani-Gadanya said.
