Lagos Launches E-Registration, Payment for 2025 BECE to Streamline Process

The Lagos State Examinations Board has officially commenced the electronic registration and payment process for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The announcement, made on Friday, January 26, aims to simplify the registration process for both public and private schools while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in examination records.

According to a statement released by the Director of the Examinations Board, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu, the e-registration portal is now open for submissions.

The board has advised school administrators and principals to ensure timely registration of their students to avoid late penalties.

“E-registration is part of our commitment to advancing educational technology in Lagos State. It ensures transparency and accuracy in data collection while reducing the stress of manual processes,” Mr. Orunsolu said.

The BECE is a critical examination for students transitioning from Junior Secondary School (JSS3) to Senior Secondary School (SS1).

The new e-registration system will also enable seamless payment for the examination, further easing administrative bottlenecks for participating schools.

The Director emphasized that the portal will remain open until the stated deadline, urging schools to make the most of the opportunity.

“We encourage all schools to comply with the guidelines for registration. Late registration will attract additional fees, and we aim to avoid such situations through early compliance,” he added.

The Lagos State government has consistently demonstrated its commitment to improving the education sector, leveraging technology to create a more efficient and accessible system for students and educators alike.

The introduction of e-registration for BECE aligns with this vision, offering a modern approach to examination management.

For further inquiries and guidelines on the registration process, schools are encouraged to contact the Lagos State Examinations Board directly through official communication channels.
