The Lagos State Police Command says Naira Marley had yet to honour her invitation to participate in a house party in breach of the Lagos State lockdown order.
Funke Akindele, the actress of Nollywood, hosted a party on Saturday in honour of her friend, Abdulrasheed Bello, popularly named JJC.
When the party's video leaked, police arrested the actress on Sunday night and ordered her husband and Naira Marley to report at the station, or announced that they wanted to.
JJC Skillz and Naira Marley participated in the group but were absent during the arrest.
Bala Elkana, the Police Public Relations Officer, stated to The newsmen that JJC Skillz has arrived at the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, while Naira Marley has not.
He also said the actress, popularly referred to as 'Jenifa,' and her husband was taken to Ogba, Lagos, a court of chief magistrates.
The police spokesman said, “The husband arrived at the SCID around 2am and they will be arraigned together.
“We are, however, yet to see Naira Marley.”
The Nigeria Gazette states that they will be arraigned for violating the Lagos Infectious Diseases Regulations 2020 (the Regulations), which prescribes a one-month prison sentence or a fine of N100,000 or both for individuals found guilty of holding meetings or flouting the lock-down.
It reads in part, “Where there is a violation of a closedown or stay at home order, security Agencies shall have the power to arrest without warrant and may detain any person who violates the close down or stay at home order for at least 48 hours.
“Where the arrested person is found guilty, the person is liable to a fine of N100,000.00 or one-month imprisonment or three months Community service.”
