Mr Eazi, a Nigerian singer and entrepreneur, bets heavily on artists from the northern part of Nigeria. He is extending his scope to the region through emPawa Africa, his talent incubation project designed to cultivate and fund budding African talents. Northern musicians DJ Abba and Namenj have joined the emPawa Africa family recently.

DJ Abba comes from Kaduna and for quite a while has been on the emPawa radar. The singer, rapper, producer and songwriter has grown into one of the most sought after artists in the northern part of Nigeria, beginning his musical career in 2011, with hit songs such as 'Su Baba Ne', 'Yar Boko' and 'Babarsa'.

In 2019, he also received the Northern Nigeria Best Singer of the Year Award and won numerous awards for Best Rap Artist of the Year, Best Kannywood Hip-Hop Artist of the Year and Arewa Artist of the Year for the City People Music Award.

With its Hausa cover of Adekunle Gold's 'Orente' in 2015, Namenj, who lives a nomadic lifestyle through Jos, Maiduguri and Kano, stepped into the limelight.

Discovered by Mr Eazi via the emPawa30 Artiste Talent Programme, with the visuals directed by the prolific Adasa Cookey, he released his debut single,' Rayuwata' in July 2020.

He was also included in the 'Nobody' Hausa Remix on the Nobody Worldwide Remixes Album by the award-winning disc jockey, DJ Neptune. He is also set to release a new album at the beginning of next month, 'Fatana.'

Mr Eazi remains committed to finding, raising and inspiring African artists into 'artist-preneurs' through emPawa Africa, as he still mixes Nigeria and Africa's nooks and crannies for emerging talents while extending his tentacles with massive support and investment in areas where the major players will hopefully not be involved.
