Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has dismissed criticisms and insults directed at him over his social media posts.
On Saturday, El-Rufai addressed his critics, saying that their negative reactions would not change the outcome of his statements. In a post on X, titled “POLITICS & PUBLIC SERVICE?” he quoted Julius Caesar: “veni, vidi, vici” (I came, I saw, I conquered).
El-Rufai wrote,
This statement follows El-Rufai’s recent remarks about envy within Nigeria’s political class.
He described envy as an ‘incurable disease’ and questioned whether it could be eradicated among politicians.

In his reflections, El-Rufai quoted U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, saying:
