National Hero Transparency Awards Rescheduled to October 26
The highly anticipated National Hero Transparency Awards and Lecture series has been rescheduled to October 26, 2024. The event was previously set for September 28 at the Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
The Organising Committee, chaired by Tim Okojie Ave, made the announcement on Thursday, confirming the new date.
Professor Sylvester Odion Akhaine from the Department of Political Science, Lagos State University (LASU), will deliver the keynote lecture. The theme for the event is “The Imperative of Having Strong Institutions in Nigeria.”
The awards will honour prominent Nigerians who have made significant contributions to the nation’s development by inducting them into the Transparency Hall of Fame.
Among the notable inductees are Sen. Sani Uba, Governor of Kaduna State; Sim Fubara, Rivers State Governor; Sheriff Oborevwori, Delta State Governor; Comrade Peter Esele; Chief Timothy Edogun; and Chief Andrew Oare.
Other honorees include CSP Oladele Charles, Sir Omon-Irabor Casley, Chief Sylvester Eneye (Federal Comptroller of Works, Edo State), Dr. Sam Ugbuku (MD NNDC), Dr. Lucky Omokhodion, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, Akioya Ehikhamen, and Hon. Friday Igbamudu Isese.
