Forum of National Youth Leaders Urge Constructive Engagement Ahead of #EndBadGovernance Protest
Abuja, Nigeria – The Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria (FNYLPPN), led by its new Chairman, Comrade Eze Onyebuchi Chukwu, has issued a statement addressing the current socio-political climate in the country and the upcoming #EndBadGovernance protest.
The Forum commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his efforts in addressing youth concerns and urged for continued and empathetic leadership.
In their statement, the FNYLPPN highlighted several recent initiatives by President Tinubu’s administration aimed at youth empowerment, including the Student Loan Programme, the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CrediCorp), and the Nigeria Youth Investment Fund.
The Forum acknowledged these efforts as positive steps towards alleviating the challenges faced by Nigerian youth and emphasized the importance of genuine implementation to achieve meaningful impact.
“We urge President Tinubu to continue on the path of empowering the Youths, to listen with empathy, and to take decisive actions that will alleviate the ongoing hardships faced by Nigerians,” stated Comrade Eze Onyebuchi Chukwu.
The Forum expressed optimism that with steadfast leadership, the country can navigate its current difficulties towards recovery and prosperity.
Addressing the nation’s youth, the Forum recognized the legitimacy of their frustrations and the urgency of their demands. As the #EndBadGovernance protest approaches, they called for peaceful and responsible expression of grievances.
The Forum stressed the importance of avoiding a repeat of the violence and chaos that marred the #EndSARS protests, urging young Nigerians to engage in constructive dialogue.
“We must also remember the devastating consequences of the #EndSARS protest, which was tragically hijacked by unscrupulous elements,” the statement read.
The Forum advocated for organized, united leadership to facilitate effective communication with the Federal Government, aiming to prevent the misdirection of legitimate protests.
The FNYLPPN called on the government to listen to the concerns of the people and act promptly to address their grievances. They also encouraged the youth to maintain calm, peace, and unity in their efforts to seek a better Nigeria.
The statement concluded with a call for collective action to build a nation that is just, equitable, and prosperous for all citizens.
