NIAE Gets New EXCO In Taraba State

Taraba State chapter of the Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE) has elected new officials that would run its activities in the next two years.

The election which witnessed a large turnout of members took place at Victor Bala Kona Hall of Faculty of Engineering, Taraba State University, Jalingo.

The NIAE was established in 1975 as the Nigerian Society of Agricultural Engineers, NSAE, with the objective of promoting the science and art of engineering in agriculture,  encouraging original research and promoting agricultural engineering education among others.

The chairman electoral committee Professor Engr. Nicholas Nemassan told the members that their assignment would be guided by the provision of the constitution of the institution and appreciated them for good conduct during the election.

He thanked the institution for given them the opportunity to serve as members of the electoral body.

All the positions were contested unopposed except that of the Welfare Secretary. Those elected are; Engr. Tanko Bako Chairman, Engr. Muhammad Abubakar Suleiman Vice Chairman, Engr. Daniel Calvin Sati Secretary-General and Engr. Rilwanu Isma'il Assistant Secretary-General. Others are; Engr. Felix Nngasoh Public Relation Officer, Engr. Danazumi Auta Auditor, Engr. Shatarlis Danladi Financial Secretary, Engr. Sumayya Ahmadu Treasurer and Engr. Richard Hiridus Welfare Secretary.

The organization also appointed four ex-Oficio. They are; Engr. Maulud Abdul'azeez, Engr. Tukur Abdullahi, Engr. Biyos Mubi Auta and Engr. Richard Bako.

In his acceptance speech, the new chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers in Taraba State Engr. Tanko Bako applauded the calibre of people in the organization and thanked them for having faith in him promising to justify the confidence entrusted to them.

He further explained that his team would work with the veterans' members of NIAE in Taraba State to move the institution to greater heights and asked for maximum support from members to succeed.

In his goodwill message, the National Ex-Officio of the institution who represented its national body Engr. Sabiu M. Bello, FNIAE congratulated the officials for their well-deserved election and saluted the electoral committee for a job well done.

The oath of office was administered to new executives by Barrister Ahmed Faruk.
