NYSC Boss Hails Fintiri’s Bold Move, Lauds N20,000 Boost for Corps Members

NYSC Boss Hails Fintiri’s Bold Move, Lauds N20,000 Boost for Corps Members

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed, has applauded Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State for his unwavering support of corps members, particularly his decision to increase their monthly allowance from ₦10,000 to ₦20,000.

During a visit to the Governor on February 10, 2025, General Ahmed expressed deep appreciation for the state government’s commitment to the welfare of corps members. He highlighted the governor’s role in improving conditions at the orientation camp in Damare, including plans for fencing and renovation.

“The Governor’s dedication to the NYSC scheme is commendable. His decision to increase corps members’ stipends is a remarkable step toward improving their welfare,” General Ahmed stated.

NYSC Boss Hails Fintiri’s Bold Move, Lauds N20,000 Boost for Corps Members

The NYSC DG reassured Governor Fintiri of the scheme’s readiness to continue supporting Adamawa State. He emphasized that the collaboration between the state government and the NYSC would remain strong, ensuring corps members contribute meaningfully to the development of the region.

Top NYSC officials, including the acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Caroline W. Embu, and the Adamawa State Coordinator, Mr. Ateli Samson, accompanied General Ahmed on the visit. Their presence underscored the significance of the engagement in reinforcing ties between the state government and the NYSC.

As part of his itinerary, General Ahmed also met with Brigadier General PK Zawaya, the Brigade Commander of the 23 Armour Brigade Headquarters in Yola. The meeting further cemented the positive working relationship between the NYSC and the military, ensuring the security and well-being of corps members in the state.

With this renewed partnership, the Adamawa State Government and NYSC reaffirmed their commitment to improving the experiences of corps members, making their service year more rewarding and impactful.
