Ahmad Abubakar, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has contributed a digital library to the organization as part of his Community Development Service CDS Project.

This is according to a statement signed by the NYSC's Director of Press and Public Relations.

During the project's commissioning at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja, Abubakar stated that he was inspired to start the e-library project in order to help extend the NYSC library and increase its rich resources for Corps Members, NYSC staff members, and other stakeholders.

He also stated that the manual way of library operations is becoming outmoded around the world, necessitating the necessity for a digitalized information storage approach.

“As the manual system of library operations is getting obsolete globally and no more effective as it should be, l decided to convert the book materials into digital formats through proper digitization procedures for easy access”, he said.

The library's computerization was deemed necessary in order to provide free access to library materials, which included some NYSC publications that were also digitized in order to preserve them as reference materials.
