Barack Hussein Obama - Former American President
As a continuation of what has now become an annual tradition, former US President Barack Obama has posted his 2020 list of favorite films and TV shows.
In order to share his list of favorite movies and television shows of the year, former US President Barack Obama took to social media.
The former president, continuing with what has now become an annual tradition, wrote:
"Like everyone else, we were stuck inside a lot this year, and with streaming further blurring the lines between theatrical movies and television features, I’ve expanded the list to include visual storytelling that I’ve enjoyed this year, regardless of format."
This year, 10 TV shows were suggested by the former President. His list includes The Queen's Gambit, the Netflix film, a series based on a novel of the same name by Walter Tevis.
It is said that The Queen's Gambit has surpassed the record of Netflix for being the most watched limited series scripted. The series was watched by 62 million households worldwide, according to the OTT website, in the first 28 days of its broadcast.
The record-breaking display received worldwide recognition and reached #1 across 27 nations, and made it to the top 10 in 92 counties. The show's popularity, in reality, has sparked interest in chess and also the book on which it is based.
Here are the television shows Obama is recommending:
- Better Call Saul
- The Queen's Gambit
- I May Destroy You
- The Boys
- The Good Lord Bird
- The Last Dance
- Mrs. America
- The Good Place
- City So Real
Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution, one of Obama's film suggestions, is a documentary film. Under their Higher Ground Productions banner, Michelle (Obama) and Barack are executive producers of the film.
Obama recommends 14 movies; here's the full list:
