Big Turnout Expected as Osword Drama Ministry Hosts Drama Festival in Yola
Jimeta, Yola – Residents of Yola are getting ready for a three-day event that promises powerful drama, music, and soul-stirring prayers.
Osword Drama Ministry is set to host the 8th edition of its Annual Christian Drama Festival from Friday, May 9, to Sunday, May 11, 2025.
The festival will be held at the Upper Room Cathedral in Jimeta, Yola. Each day’s program begins at 4:00 PM.
Organizers say this year’s theme focuses on unity in the body of Christ and using drama to preach the gospel.
“It’s more than entertainment,” said Esther Yuguda, a coordinator with Osword Drama Ministry. “It’s a gathering for spiritual edification, where stories come alive and souls are ministered to through drama.”
Drama groups from across Adamawa and beyond are expected to attend. Each team will perform stage plays centred on hope, salvation, love, and Christian living.
The event will also feature praise and worship, prayer sessions, and pulpit messages.
Since it began eight years ago, the Osword Drama Festival has grown into one of the most anticipated Christian gatherings in Northern Nigeria.

Organizers say the goal is to use storytelling to touch lives and bring people closer to God.
“Young people especially connect well with drama,” Esther added. “We use what they love to plant seeds of truth.”
Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
