PDP Stalwarts Storm Abuja For The Pdp National Convention

Ahead of the National convention of the party set to hold 30th-31st October 2021, Prominent PDP members, leaders, and delegates arrive in Abuja. 

The convention which is aimed at electing the party National Working Committee to lead the day-to-day activities of the party has consensus candidates for various offices. 

The convention planning committee headed by Governor Fintiri of Adamawa state had declared that all is set to carry on with the exercise at the Eagle's Square in Abuja. 

Notable among dignitaries who are expected to grace the event are Former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Former Governors of Kano, Jigawa, Borno, and Gombe in persons of Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Sule Lamido, Ali Modu Sheriff, Ibrahim Dankwambo among others. 

All serving PDP governors, National Assembly members, and former leaders are also in Abuja to grace the auspicious event.

The PDP has 21 posts to be contested, 18 candidates emerged as consensus candidates while 3 offices are opened for contests. 

To this end, 27 candidates were recently cleared as aspirants to the national working committee of the party.

Earlier on the erstwhile national chairman of the PDP Prince Uche Secondus had approached the court to stop the national convention which was later thrown out and the party was given the nod to carry on with its convention at the High court and Appellate court. 

Secondus subsequently has decided to approach the Supreme court to appeal the decision.
