Police Crush Kidnappers’ Hideout in Adamawa, Seize Deadly Weapons
A major breakthrough has been recorded in the fight against kidnapping in Adamawa State as security operatives dislodged a notorious hideout at the Holma Mountains in Song Local Government Area.
In a daring raid, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, working alongside local hunters, stormed the heavily fortified camp, engaging the criminals in a fierce gun battle.
One kidnapper was shot dead during the exchange, while others fled with bullet wounds. Security forces arrested a suspect, identified as Mohammed Sale, and recovered a deadly cache of weapons.
The seized items included:
- One AK-47 rifle
- Two locally made guns
- Five rounds of AK-47 live ammunition
Police say the arrested suspect is providing critical intelligence to aid ongoing investigations.
Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, PSC(+), commended the operatives and local security partners for their swift response. He urged continued collaboration to root out criminals and keep communities safe.
Meanwhile, authorities have called on residents to report any suspicious individuals, particularly those with bullet wounds, to help track down the fleeing kidnappers.
Investigations are still ongoing, and more details will be provided as they unfold.
