Portable Slams Allegations of Fighting Ogun Officials, Calls for Proof

Nigerian street-hop sensation Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has strongly denied allegations that he physically attacked Ogun State officials who sealed his business premises. The controversial singer has demanded evidence to back up the claims against him.

In a viral video circulating on social media, Portable insisted that he was asleep when the officials arrived and had no involvement in any altercation. He accused the authorities of not only sealing his properties but also vandalizing his bar, which he claims holds deep personal significance.

The musician, known for his outspoken nature and unpredictable behaviour, expressed frustration over the allegations, emphasizing that he has been wrongly accused. He urged his fans to believe his side of the story, maintaining that he never engaged in any act of violence against government officials.

In an emotional appeal, Portable addressed the public, calling on the officials to present evidence supporting their claims. He described the sealed building as more than just a business space, revealing that it is the location where he buried his mother when he was 13 years old.

“It’s a youth matter, I’m a small boy. I didn’t fight anybody. I might be troublesome, but this time, I was asleep when they came to my house and bar, asking everyone to leave,” Portable said.

He further explained that the officials disrupted activities at an academy he had set up to support young talents, including musicians, tailors, carpenters, and bricklayers.

“Elders, owners of the earth, they have lied against us. My glory will defeat my enemies. That house is where I buried my mother when I was 13,” he stated passionately.

Portable’s latest brush with the authorities is not his first time making headlines for controversial reasons. The singer has built a reputation for being vocal about perceived injustices, often engaging in heated exchanges on social media. His unpredictable behaviour has made him one of Nigeria’s most talked-about artists, garnering both admiration and criticism.

Despite this, Portable remains confident in his innocence, urging the public to disregard what he describes as false accusations. He firmly challenged officials to provide proof of any wrongdoing.

“My fans, I swear to God, I didn’t fight anyone. Let them show proof that I did,” he stated in the video.

This incident raises broader concerns about conflicts between local business owners and government authorities in Nigeria. Many small business owners have accused officials of unfair treatment, excessive taxation, and abrupt property seizures. Portable’s situation highlights the struggles entrepreneurs face, especially in the entertainment sector, where artists often have to fend for themselves against regulatory challenges.

For Portable, this is more than just a legal issue—it’s personal. His emotional connection to the sealed building adds another layer to the controversy, making it a deeply sensitive matter for the singer and his supporters.

Public Reactions

The allegations have sparked mixed reactions from the public. While some believe Portable’s version of events, others remain sceptical, pointing to his history of confrontational behaviour.

Supporters argue that Portable is being unfairly targeted, with some suggesting that his outspoken nature has made him a frequent subject of scrutiny. On the other hand, critics believe that the singer’s past actions make it difficult to take his claims at face value.

Social media platforms have been flooded with comments, memes, and debates over the situation, further fueling the controversy.

What Next for Portable?

As the dust settles, the question remains—what’s next for Portable? Will the Ogun State authorities respond with evidence, or will this incident fade into the long list of controversies surrounding the singer?

For now, Portable continues to maintain his innocence, urging his fans and the general public to stand by him. Whether this issue will escalate further or be resolved quietly remains to be seen.
