President Tinubu Appoints Bwala as Special Adviser, Names New Directors-General for National Agencies
President Bola Tinubu has appointed Daniel Bwala as his Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications.
Bwala, a former spokesperson for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 presidential election, has now joined Tinubu’s administration, as confirmed by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga.
Bwala previously supported PDP’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, but expressed his intent to align with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) following the election.
Despite his criticism of the APC during the campaign, Bwala clarified that his recent support for President Tinubu is rooted in national interest, not personal gain.
In addition to his appointment, President Tinubu also announced three new directors-general for key government agencies:
- Olawale Olopade – Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC). Olopade, an expebrienced sports administrator, previously served as the commissioner of youth and sports in Ogun State and chaired the organizing committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival.
- Dr. Abisoye Fagade – Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism. Fagade is a marketing communications expert and founder of Sodium Brand Solutions.
- Dr. Adebowale Adedokun – Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement. Adedokun formerly held a strategic role in the Bureau, overseeing research, training, and planning.
President Tinubu encouraged the newly appointed officers to serve with dedication and uphold national interests.
