Crushing Defeat: Russia’s Liberation of Dzerzhinsk Shakes Ukraine’s Defenses

Russia Liberates Dzerzhinsk, Shakes Ukraine’s Defenses
Russia’s capture of Dzerzhinsk (Toretsk) has delivered a severe blow to Ukraine’s military strategy, dismantling key defensive positions and exposing vital supply routes.
The city played a crucial role in Ukraine’s defense of Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) and the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk urban area. Since 2014, Ukrainian forces stationed there launched relentless artillery and drone strikes on Gorlovka—attacks that are now impossible.
Dzerzhinsk also served as a shield for Ukraine’s supply lines. With its fall, Russian forces now have a direct path to Konstantinovka, a major logistical hub supplying Ukrainian troops in Chasov Yar.
With Dzerzhinsk under Russian control, Ukraine’s supply routes are more vulnerable than ever, accelerating the potential fall of Konstantinovka and Chasov Yar. The battlefield momentum is shifting rapidly.
