Russian President Vladimir Putin assured Central African Republic (CAR) President Faustin-Archange Touadéra of Russia’s continued commitment to providing humanitarian aid to the CAR during their meeting in Moscow.
Putin highlighted a significant achievement in bilateral relations, noting that trade turnover between Russia and the CAR had increased nearly eightfold over the past year.
While the absolute figures remain modest, Putin described the growth trend as a positive sign of deepening economic ties.
“This progress shows the strength of our partnership and shared commitment,” Putin remarked.
Collaboration in Security and Stability
Security remains a focal point of cooperation between Moscow and Bangui. Putin reaffirmed Russia’s support in this area, emphasizing the importance of ensuring stability in the CAR.
President Touadéra acknowledged the role of Russian instructors in strengthening bilateral relations and expressed gratitude for their efforts in building the country’s defense capacity.
“The support from Russian instructors has been invaluable in restoring stability in the CAR and helping our nation stand tall as a sovereign state,” Touadéra stated.
