At the closing ceremony of a final soccer match between Bade Academy F.C. and Nguru ‘B' F.C. on Saturday, President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, won the hearts of young Nigerians.

Thousands of soccer fans attended the game, which was held at the Bade Township Stadium, and came from both within and outside of Yobe State.

Tijani Babangida, a former Nigerian professional player who played as a winger for the Super Eagles, and Daniel Amokachi, a former player and assistant manager of the national team, were among the football stars who graced the soccer finals.

The soccer tournament drew a diverse group of fans from various racial and religious backgrounds.

Lawan, who arrived at the venue in his motorcade to a standing ovation at about 5 p.m., wasted no time in putting on a display of talent, effortlessly making a fast and efficient kick to the ball without being hampered by the traditional attire he wore.

The game between the two clubs ended in a goalless draw, resulting in a penalty shootout in which Bade Academy F.C. beat Nguru ‘B' F.C. by a score of 5-4.

The Sardauna Bade cup was then presented to the winning club by Senate President Ahmad Lawan.
