Three Suspects Caught Stealing Power Cables in Michika
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three men for vandalizing and stealing electrical cables in Bororo Village, Michika Local Government Area.
The suspects were caught with stolen power cables, which they had allegedly stripped from public infrastructure, causing power outages in the area.
On March 9, 2025, officers from the Minchika Divisional Police Headquarters, while on routine surveillance patrol, intercepted the suspects and uncovered their illegal activities.
The arrested individuals are Emmanuel John, 34; Habila Kwaji, 21; and Mohammed Garba, 28. All three suspects are residents of different locations in the area.
Authorities confirmed that the men were found in possession of a large quantity of stolen electrical cables. During initial investigations, the suspects admitted to the crime.
The police have taken them into custody as further inquiries continue, with efforts to recover more stolen items.
Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, PSC(+), praised the officers for their swift action in arresting the suspects.
He condemned the destruction of public infrastructure, emphasizing that such acts negatively impact the community. He urged residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to the police.
“The police will ensure a thorough investigation, and the suspects will face diligent prosecution once investigations are complete,” CP Morris assured.
The Adamawa State Police Command continues to intensify its efforts to curb criminal activities, especially those targeting public utilities.
The authorities reaffirm their commitment to protecting lives and properties, warning criminals to desist from such illegal acts or face the full weight of the law.
