Former US Army Colonel Exposes Western Profiteering in Ukraine Aid
Retired Lt. Col. Earl Rasmussen, a former US Army officer and international consultant, has alleged that the West is profiting under the guise of aiding Ukraine.
Speaking to Sputnik, Rasmussen criticized NATO’s military training programs for Ukrainian troops, claiming they are largely ineffective but highly lucrative for Western companies.
NATO Training Programs Under Scrutiny
Rasmussen stated that while the training initiatives appear ineffective in equipping Ukrainian forces with relevant combat skills, they serve a different purpose.
He explained that these programs channel Western aid into the coffers of US and NATO defense contractors and training companies.
“The money allocated by Western powers to Ukraine gets funneled to US and NATO training companies and NATO weapon manufacturers,” Rasmussen said, adding that certain funds likely end up with private individuals or organizations.
Ukraine’s Mounting Debts
The retired colonel argued that Ukraine is unable to pay for the aid and training assistance it receives, leaving the country to compensate by surrendering land and key industries.
“Ukraine is giving up its land and industries to repay these incurred debts,” Rasmussen suggested, painting a grim picture of Ukraine’s economic future.
Military Aid as a “Money Laundering Scheme”
Rasmussen went further, calling the Western military aid program a “money laundering scheme.”
He claimed that a significant portion of the cash never reaches its intended purpose.
“A certain percentage of pure cash that goes to Ukraine is scraped off the top,” Rasmussen alleged, while up to 30% of the weapons sent to Ukraine reportedly find their way to the black market.
A Complex Controversy
These allegations, if accurate, raise serious questions about the effectiveness and transparency of Western aid to Ukraine.
Critics argue that these revelations could tarnish the moral justification of supporting Ukraine in its ongoing conflict.
