VIDEO: Panam Percy Paul – I will Not Deny Jesus (Leah Sharibu’s song)

May 14th will forever remain indelible in the minds of the parents of Leah Sharibu the only Christian among the 112 female students kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents in Yobe. It will remain indelible because it’s the day of her birth.

Back on May 14th, 2018, Leah celebrated her 15th birthday in the captivity of the Boko Haram insurgents amidst pain and sadness.

Panam Percy Paul, one of Nigeria’s leading gospel music ministers on Monday released a solo track to mark the 16th birthday of Leah Sharibu.

Hundreds of people are also expected to storm Nigeria’s mission’s house in both the UK and the US to mark the birthday of Sharibu and to make case for her release from the camp of the terrorists

Sharibu was one of the 110 Daptchi girls that were abducted by Boko Haram on February 19, 2018. Today will make it 450 days that she would be in the captivity of the insurgents.

Panam in his solo track which is well illustrated with a graphic image of how she was abducted tells the story of Leah.

He sings that Leah a Nigerian girl was abducted and was asked to deny Jesus. She refused to deny Jesus against all the entreaties of her friend.

The lyrics of the song also notes why Leah refused to deny Jesus stating that he who is in Jesus is free and need no other freedom.

Panam, an internationally acclaimed gospel music minister also hinted in the track how he was offered N7billion in 1995 to stop singing about Jesus. But he said he turned down the offer because nothing could stop him from singing about Jesus.

Apart from Panam’s tribute to Leah Sharibu, there will be a lot of other activities to call government attention to the release of the Dapchi girl and also appeal to the conscience of the insurgents. There is a Leah Sharibu Foundation that has been making case for her release. There is also going to be an event at the US Senate Building on Capitol Hill in Washington today to mark her birthday and call for her release.
