The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has approved the appointment of his Chief Personal Security Officer as Deputy Police Commissioner, Aliyu Musa.

This was disclosed in a statement on Monday by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.

Musa from Nigerian Police Force Zone 5, Benin City, as its last station, hails from Niger State, according to the release.

“Musa’s appointment follows the redeployment of his predecessor, Commissioner of Police, Abdulkarim Dauda,” Shehu wrote.

Dauda is one of the security operatives redeployed from the Presidential Villa following the shooting incident involving security assistants attached to the wife of the president, Aisha.

Aisha and her security details stormed the official residence of the Personal Assistant of the President, Sabiu Yusuf, in an attempt to force him into 14-day isolation after his trip to Lagos, considered the epicentre of COVID-19 in Nigeria.
