Wike’s Bold Projects Will Secure APC’s 2027 Victory in FCT – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for his outstanding infrastructure projects, stating that his efforts will boost the chances of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections. Tinubu made this statement on Sunday during a Sallah homage at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where Wike led a delegation of FCT residents to celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr holiday.

During the gathering, Tinubu hailed Wike’s commitment to transforming Abuja, referring to him as ‘Mr. Infrastructure.’ Despite being a prominent member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Wike has been instrumental in reshaping the FCT’s landscape. Tinubu acknowledged the Minister’s efforts, emphasizing that his leadership has improved the quality of life for residents.

“I could see the diversity of men and women here, I must thank the Honorable Minister of FCT. It’s worth it. It is nothing other than a privilege to be the landlord of everyone in Abuja,” Tinubu stated.

The President credited Wike for breaking bureaucratic barriers and fostering a more efficient administration. He recalled a discussion with Wike on the Treasury Single Account (TSA), where the Minister sought financial flexibility to enhance his performance. Tinubu revealed that Wike’s plans and execution strategies aligned with APC’s broader goals.

“I asked him if making such changes would favor the APC in upcoming elections,” Tinubu said. “We reached a mutual understanding that would benefit both parties.”

Tinubu praised Wike’s rapid execution of crucial projects, which included rural development, completion of abandoned projects, and healthcare facility upgrades. He noted that Wike’s initiatives had significantly improved education, health services, and overall community welfare.

“Today, we live in peace as security improves. People are seeking results and comfort. They desire good health and fair leadership,” Tinubu remarked. “It’s about everyone working together; we belong to one family of hope and belief in Nigeria.”

Tinubu also highlighted Wike’s ability to bridge regional divides, noting that as a southern politician, Wike has successfully operated at the core of northern Nigeria. According to Tinubu, this demonstrates Nigeria’s diversity as a tool for national development.

“There is a trust placed in me as a custodian of your faith, and only Allah grants power,” he added. “Those given power must wield it justly and compassionately, demonstrating that this privilege requires responsible stewardship.”

Following Tinubu’s speech, Wike expressed gratitude for the President’s recognition and reiterated his commitment to delivering results for the people of Abuja.

“I am pleased that my boss has confidence in me,” Wike stated. “We are committed to continuing our work for the satisfaction of the Abuja populace, and we will not let him down.”
